how to type a resume
« Posted: October 29, 2007, 01:28:58 PM »

There are a lot of questions that come up when starting to type a resume. Your main question might be what kind of resume should I write? There are many kinds Hybrid, Combination, Print, Formatted, RTF, Electronic, Text, Scannable, PDF, Web-based Chronological, Functional, Chrono-Functional.

The type you pick is entirely up to you and what structure or format you feel best with.

One of the most important aspects of a resume is going to be the keywords and phrases you use. If you can really capture the readers attention right off the bat with something that sticks out and is intriguing, you have already gotten 1 up on the competition.

The truth of the matter is most resume reviewers take about 10-15 seconds to look at your resume and decide if its worth looking into more depth.

One of the best things you could do for a resume is create a cover letter. Nothing extremely flashy, otherwise you just come off as a cheesy weasle. You need something more solid, professional looking, yet interesting. It is a hard balance.

The key to resumes is to be truthful, put out the best of what you have, and make it look professional and grab attention.
