Würth Expands Global Online Customer Engagement with SDL
« Posted: May 21, 2014, 08:43:02 PM »

SDL (LSE: SDL) today announced that Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, a world leading supplier of, fasteners, manual  assembly tools electrical supplies and automotive chemicals has selected SDL Language Solutions to support the expansion of their ecommerce business into new geographies. SDL will deliver translated website content for Würth's online shop in 60 languages, ensuring Würth's three million ecommerce customers are receiving consistent, high quality, localised content to significantly improve customer experience online.

Established 70 years ago in Germany, Würth has grown into a worldwide business comprising 400 companies which operate in over 80 countries. To help meet the demands of such a geographically dispersed and large customer base, SDL is providing and automating delivery of local language content to help deliver an exceptional experience to all of Würth's customers, no matter what language they speak. To significantly reduce translation turnaround time, Würth is deploying SDL WorldServer, a market leading translation workflow solution that accelerates time to market.

"Launching our online shop across new geographies in local languages is a critical component of our strategy for global expansion," said Jürgen Häckel, CIO at Würth. "With the combination of SDL's language technology and services, we will create a centralised localisation process to improve the quality of our communications and overall customer experience. Being a global company, SDL provides great local support to us through their Stuttgart office, whilst enabling us to take advantage of its international network to deliver on our global ambitions and strategy."

Dominic Kinnon, CEO of SDL Language Solutions, commented, "Today's generation of digitally aware customers is driving businesses to change how they're interacting. Customers are looking for a consistent experience as they increasingly engage across multiple touch points.  More importantly, they want and need to be able to do this in their native language.  Our integrated language solution enables businesses to deliver this customer experience across any language, helping to expand geographic reach into new markets, which will drive international revenue."
