BESMA announces WorldPay eCommerce employee as winner
LONDON (11th March, 2013) – WorldPay, a global leader in payment processing, risk and alternative payments, has today announced that employee Nicole McIvor, an eCommerce Account Executive, has won the ‘New Sales Professional of the Year’ award at the prestigious 2013 British Excellence in Sales and Marketing Awards (BESMA).
Nicole was chosen out of 150 nominees after a competitive selection process which involved role-play performance, client references and an interview. Nicole used what she had learnt from the sales curriculum in the WorldPay eCommerce University and believes this was one of the keys to her success.
Nicole McIvor comments: “I’m really pleased to have won this award. The training I received through the WorldPay eCommerce University taught me how to change my approach to the sales process; focusing on merchants goals so that our solutions are more relevant and buyable. It’s not just an immediate win, it’s about identifying future opportunities, how to get around potential barriers and continuing to develop the merchant relationship. You’d think it was very simple but in sales that’s very rarely done. The feedback I’ve had from merchants so far is that this is a really different approach to how they are normally sold to, and it seems to be working!”
Nicole was nominated for the award by Cynthia Zijlstra, the director of the WorldPay eCommerce University.
Cynthia Zijlstra, Director, WorldPay eCommerce University, comments: “It’s very rare for a company to have a winner in the first year they enter the awards. Winning this award is important to WorldPay, eCommerce, the WorldPay eCommerce University and of course Nicole. It puts us on the map of successful sales organisations, and shows our sales curriculum is hitting the spot with merchants.”
The awards recognise outstanding sales achievement in the UK. The winners were announced on February 28th at an award ceremony in London attended by over 600 of the best sales professionals in the country.
