Company ranked number 19th Fastest Growing Technology Company in the UK
Bloxx, the innovator in web and email filtering, today announced that it has again been recognised by Deloitte as one of the UK’s fastest expanding technology businesses, listed at number 19 in Deloitte’s prestigious Fast 50 awards. The company’s rapid growth of 1262% over the last five years has been built on a foundation of innovative technology, a straightforward approach to business and a strong sales culture.
“It’s an extraordinary achievement for Bloxx to be listed for the fourth successive year in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50,” said Bloxx Chief Executive Officer, Eamonn Doyle. “The IT security market is fiercely competitive and continues to increase in complexity as the threat landscape evolves. We have built a strong business on providing advanced security products that deliver significant customer benefits at prices substantially lower than the larger vendors.”
“In the last year we have launched new products to address email productivity and allow the safe use of YouTube content in the classroom, which is providing new revenue opportunities. In addition we are now licensing our patent-applied-for software back to other security vendors to allow them to embed this directly into their products. We have already secured a significant deal with Netstar, the dominant player in the Japanese web filtering market and we are in advanced negotiations with a number of other major security companies around the world.”
“The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 gives great profile to technology companies and is internationally recognised as being one of the most important business awards in the sector said,” David Halstead, Partner leading the Deloitte Technology Fast 50. “In spite of the challenging financial market conditions, the 2010 Deloitte Fast 50 shows that tremendous growth rates are still possible, with the mobile technology and software sectors showing particular strength.
Achieving sustained revenue growth of 1262% over five years is a tremendous accomplishment during challenging times for the technology sector,” said Mike McGregor Deloitte Technology partner for Scotland. “Bloxx’ exceptional growth puts it in select company.”
Bloxx Tru-View Technology, developed at the company’s Livingston, UK research labs, allows web pages or emails to be accurately classified and filtered in real-time. This patent-applied-for approach was the first commercially available Web filter that could cope with the rapid growth of the Internet and the dynamic nature of Web 2.0 content. The software has now been further developed for use in the recently launched Bloxx Email Filter. Bloxx Web and Email Filtering appliances, powered by Tru-View Technology, help IT companies and organisations proactively manage users’ access to web content and emails which might otherwise lower productivity, expose the organisation to risk and liability or pose a network security threat.
The company boasts an impressive customer base of over 2.5 million users, from large corporations to educational institutions, including, Yorkshire Building Society, EMI, Monarch Airlines, Selfridges, Royal Institute of British Architects, London Symphony Orchestra and The Robert Gordon University.
