Today Tribold announced the latest release of their market leading Enterprise Product Management software solution: Tribold EPM version 5.1™.
As Tribold continues to acquire more customers, and now manages over US$64b of products and services on the Tribold EPM platform, offering the most advanced product management capability continues to be a company imperative. IDC agree, stating in their December 2011 report on Product Catalog that “Tribold takes a unique approach and has a strong solution, probably the best in the business”.
Tribold EPM v5.1 is no exception. This feature rich release further extends the application’s footprint around the operational management of products as they change through the lifecycle and the impact those changes have on downstream environments and systems.
Examples of key Tribold EPM v5.1 enhancements include the following:
Product Data Publishing
The Tribold Product Data Publisher (PDP) capability, new to v5.1, allows you to configure a number of target destinations to which data in the catalog can be published before it is ready for launch. For example, if you have multiple environments for Development, Test and Production, you can choose to publish to each of these environments at any given time. You can also configure which types of entities can be published to which targets and by whom. The objective of the PDP is the ability to test changes before they are formally launched.
Rules
Configurable Workflow, introduced in the Tribold EPM v5.0 release, now formally underpins the Tribold Rules solution in v5.1, providing the following added benefits:
Perform XPath validation at more points in the workflow
Visually design more complex validation logic
Call Web services for validation against external data and the triggering of external processes
More targeted messaging to help identify problem data
New Abstract Class has been introduced to improve rules definition and management, establishing reusable data patterns for Configurable Attributes and for a wide range of Rules Categories, including availability, cross-sell, up-sell, dependencies, compatibility, serviceability
Mass Data / Change Management
Changeset Groups and Bulk Status update functionality have been introduced to support change management on a global scale in the catalog, streamlining and simplifying changes across projects
Users are able to manage and coordinate changes across marketing programs/promotions, IT release cycles and parallel product change / launch initiatives
Catherine Michel, Tribold CTO and co-founder is justifiably enthusiastic about the release: “We put so much time and effort into making sure our solution is in tune with CSPs’ critical product management requirements. V5.1 represents some of our best work to date, addressing key pain points in our customers PLM and product MDM operations.
Michel concluded: “When leading industry analysts like IDC and Gartner take note and as customers continue to buy from us, we know we are accomplishing what we set out to do.”
