LONDON, UK – 10th April 2013 – The People’s Operator (TPO), one of the UK’s newest mobile operators today announced the arrival of its monthly contracts made up of voice, text message and data bundles. The bundles will run on 30 day rolling contracts and is in keeping with the MVNOs strategy to expand its customer base into what it has identified as a growing sector of the market that is looking to contribute more to the community.
Mark Epstein, co-founder, TPO said, “We are very excited to be rolling out the next phase of our strategy and building on the success of the last few months as we expand into offering monthly contracts. Our partners and our customers are both set to benefit from our competitive pricing and the knowledge that their money is going to the causes that matter to them most.”
TPO is the UK’s first commercial utility where 10 per cent of every customer’s call, text and data spend can be directed to the customer’s nominated causes for no extra cost. In addition, TPO leads the way in corporate social responsibility by giving 25 per cent of profits go to community groups and causes via the TPO Foundation.
The pricing and structure of the contracts ensures that customers have ample choice when it comes to finding the right deal with the bundles set to range from £5-£25 a month with the top end £25 bundle offering unlimited calls, text and 1GB of data. TPO are also running a series of promotions at launch. These will see the £25 bundle reduced to just £20 and the £20 bundle to just £18.

Since the launch of TPO in November last year, the London-based company has been hard at work building the brand and expanding its portfolio of partners which includes the NSPCC, the Trussell Trust, ChildLine, Children’s Heart Foundation, RE:generate, Caxton House and soon, The Big Issue Foundation.
Stephen Robertson, CEO of The Big Issue Foundation said, ‘The Big Issue movement is all about innovation through business. The magazine provides an opportunity for people who are homeless to earn their own cash, a livelihood. The Foundation offers vendors the opportunity of a life. We are delighted to partner with TPO. Communicating is core to our work and our daily lives. We are about to embark on a joint initiative that will enable The Big Issue community to access the most affordable mobile tariffs in the country. TPO deserve every credit for their commitment to deliver excellent services for some of the most excluded people in today’s society’.
Causes such as these also benefit by receiving 10 per cent of call, text and data spend for anyone that they sign up to TPO. It is worth noting that this is a straight 10 per cent net meaning TPO does not deduct any of their costs out of the amount they pass through to the causes.
TPO uses the UK’s biggest 3G and 4G mobile network and will be continuing its growth across the UK market with plans to rollout handset contracts, though timings are yet to be finalised.
Jason Bellman, Director of MVNO and National M2M at EE said, “Partnering with EE, the UK’s largest 2G and 3G network, guarantees TPO’s customers optimum quality calls and fantastic data coverage. We’re proud to be working with TPO with their highly innovative business model that gives back to society and now offers a great new range of monthly price plans.”
