With strong service provider support, new RFx templates, procurement guides and training move into the mainstream
MANAGEMENT WORLD AMERICAS, ORLANDO, FL – November 9, 2010 – With 18 of the global top 20 communications service providers already using its Frameworx standard, TM Forum today launched a series of Procurement Guides to help its members reduce cost and risk of IT purchases by buying products that conform to Frameworx, the industry’s only integrated IT and business architecture.
As communications service providers (CSPs) move to rationalize their IT architecture to support rapid service deployment and reduce operational cost, TM Forum’s Frameworx standard is rapidly becoming the key enabling standard for agile service providers succeeding in today’s ultra-competitive markets.
TM Forum’s Service Provider Leadership Council, which comprises 17 leading CSPs, today approved the first Frameworx Rfx Templates, moving them forward to formal approval by the organization’s 750 member companies. Available for use immediately, the templates simplify the process of procurement for CSPs demanding Frameworx-conformant solutions.
When combined with TM Forum’s Conformance Assessment for service providers, the templates provide CSPs with a standardized procurement process that can significantly reduce the time and cost associated with RFx responses for suppliers.
In parallel, the organization also announced a new supporting training course, “Using Frameworx in RFx Creation and Assessment.” The new course, available for both public and in-company training, provides technical and procurement staff with key knowledge and advice on how to use Frameworx and the templates to simplify the procurement process and reduce total cost of ownership.
