The Bunker Secure Hosting Ltd, provider of Ultra* Secure Data Centres and Managed Services is pleased to announce the successful completion of a power upgrade project at its data centre in Ash, Kent. The high voltage and low voltage infrastructure has been replaced with brand new state of the art equipment delivering double the amount of power, improved resilience and automation, and ample capacity for future growth.
“Demonstrating our commitment to customer service levels, we have invested over £2 million in this project, providing The Bunker with an infrastructure for 4,500 KVA, sufficient capacity to supply the whole Data Centre, of which 1,500 KVA is being currently used,” said Peregrine Newton, CEO of The Bunker.
The investment provides multiple levels of resilience; at high voltage and low voltage stages, with two separate feeds from different sub stations. Each feed has a dedicated transformer, generation plant and Uninterruptable Power Supply systems, thus providing the power supply with the highest resilience possible. Further benefits from this upgrade are the availability of dual feeds and up to 32 amps per rack. Additionally, the new infrastructure makes The Bunker much more energy efficient.
Peregrine Newton added, “I am delighted that the power upgrade is now completed. The power supply and management we now have in place provides The Bunker with one of the most advanced and modern infrastructures in the country, providing our customers with the reassurance they expect from The Bunker; that their outsourced operations are housed in industry leading facilities. We are looking forward for further opportunities for development and expansion“.
