Company Executive Christina Noren to Lead the Effort; VMware and WebSphere App Development Under Way

LONDON – MAY 6, 2010 - Splunk, the IT Search company, today unveiled plans to develop solutions - suites and apps designed to extend the value of the core Splunk engine. Christina Noren, Splunk VP of Product Management, has been charged with leading these new teams. In conjunction with this new responsibility and role, Noren has been promoted to the position of SVP, Solutions and Product Management.

"Our investment in solutions demonstrates our commitment to continued customer success," said Godfrey Sullivan, President and CEO of Splunk. "Christina's background and five year track record at Splunk eminently qualify her to lead this team."

In her new role at Splunk, Noren will build and lead the solutions delivery teams in support of four solution areas: application management, operations, security and compliance. Noren has deep domain expertise as a customer and product leader for innovative log, systems and security management technologies, including Group Manager for MSN data center monitoring and as VP of Product Management at Sensage.  Each solutions delivery team will be chartered with building, releasing and documenting Splunk supported apps and leading partner and community solutions.

The solutions teams represent a significant opportunity for Splunk to align customer need with customer innovation.  Armed with an intimate knowledge of customer experiences and best practices using Splunk to solve specific use cases, the solutions teams will package this innovation and offer it to the global Splunk customer base.

"For the past five years I've witnessed how our most visionary customers have used the core Splunk engine to deliver incredibly powerful benefits to their organizations," said Noren. "Drawing upon the innovation of our customers in combination with our talented development team, we’ve been able to productize this innovation and will soon make this available to all Splunk customers.”

The initial apps scheduled for delivery include Splunk for VMware and Splunk for WebSphere anticipated to ship in the Summer of 2010. For more information on Splunk solutions, please visit our website: www.splunk.com/solutions or contact [email protected]
