Providing Assured Cloud Services to the UK Public Sector
London – April 27th 2012 – Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave assured Cloud Services Company, today announced that it will be a Platinum sponsor of the forthcoming “Think G-Cloud 2012” Conference (
www.thinkgcloud2012.co.uk), which will take place on the 18th October 2012 at the IET, Savoy Place, London.
This event will be the only conference in 2012 that will focus solely on G-Cloud, looking beyond the hype to specifically address the real impact the G-Cloud Framework is having on the UK Public Sector ICT, exploring the practical implications for both Government and Industry alike, and pooling collective experience and learning to date to enable continued adoption of G-Cloud services by the UK Government.
Neelie Kroes, Vice President of the European Commission, will speak on the European Cloud Computing Strategy, and how this strategy will boost public sector Cloud adoption across Europe. There will also be detailed examinations on how the UK Public Sector should best equip itself to adopt and procure cloud services: what the barriers to adoption really are, and how they can be overcome, from a number of high profile public and private sector speakers.
Phil Dawson, CEO of Skyscape said: “The G-Cloud framework is fundamentally changing the delivery of IT infrastructure and services in the UK public sector. The UK Government has stated its intention to engage with the private sector in an entirely different way, on a different level and with transformational effect. The G-Cloud initiative is underpinning this reform and Skyscape is genuinely proud to be part of the UK Government’s journey towards lean, agile and best of breed IT delivery for the UK Public Sector”.
Dawson added “From our recent UK Public Sector Cloud Predictions 2012 survey, we know that there are still perceived barriers to adoption of Cloud services in the UK public sector. For example 53% of respondents believe that security is one the greatest inhibitors to Cloud adoption.
“The “Think G-Cloud 2012” conference will provide an opportunity for practitioners and experts to debate the key issues, and help remove the perceived obstacles to the adoption of Cloud Services. This in turn will help the UK Government unlock the flexibility and efficiencies that will transform the way that ICT will underpin the delivery of services to the UK citizen. I would encourage all who are currently involved in the G-Cloud Framework, or who are thinking about using the G-Cloud Framework to attend and contribute to this important debate”.
