Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave assured Cloud Services Company, today announced that it has been awarded the CarbonNeutral® Company certification by reducing its carbon footprint to net zero.
To achieve CarbonNeutral® Company status, Skyscape worked with The CarbonNeutral Company, a world-leading provider of carbon reductions solutions, to measure and reduce its carbon footprint to net zero. All the greenhouse gas emissions that it produced from energy consumption, waste disposal, business travel and staff commuting were quantified and then reduced to net zero through combining internal reduction initiatives with carbon credits to offset the remaining unavoidable carbon emissions. This demonstrates its commitment to the pro-active management and effective control of the environmental impact of all its business activities.
Corporate responsibility is an integral part of the Skyscape strategy, and is embedded at the heart of its culture and is visible in the delivery of its day-to-day business activities, allowing Skyscape to make a local difference through positive action.
Skyscape’s approach to Sustainability reflects a continual drive to best practice and complements its existing efforts to certify its Quality Management System against ISO9001 and its Information Management System against ISO27001.
Jeremy Sanders, Director and Chief Strategy Officer, Skyscape explains, "We take a stand on ethical, social and environmental issues and aim to mitigate any impact that might result from our activities. We believe this responsibility also means using our influence to promote positive change.”
Rebecca Fay, Marketing Director, The CarbonNeutral Company said, “By measuring and reducing its carbon emissions Skyscape is making a strong statement to its clients and prospects that it is taking action for the environmental impact of its carbon footprint. From our experience, businesses that adopt a CarbonNeutral® position can significantly improve their competitive advantage and enhance their corporate reputation, enabling them to both reduce operational costs and increase revenues.”
Sanders adds, "Environmental performance and a commitment to sustainability initiatives are an important part of the Government Cloud Strategy, and an important factor in their supplier selection process and by achieving this important certification, we further demonstrate our differentiation as a supplier of assured cloud services to the public sector."
