Sigma Systems’ CTO Brian Cappellani appointed to TM Forum’s Advisory Board of Directors

www.sigma-systems.com) today announced that Brian Cappellani, the company’s Chief Technology Officer, has been appointed as an Advisory Director to the TM Forum’s Board of Directors. TM Forum is the world’s leading trade association that provides leadership and guidance, technical and business innovation, and education and training to improve the way telecoms, media and information services are created, delivered, assured and charged.
“Brian brings a wealth of experience as well as deep expertise in advanced IP service fulfilment to the TM Forum Advisory Board,” said Keith Willetts, Chairman of the TM Forum. “He will play a key role as we continue working to educate our cable and telco members on the application of TM Forum standards and principles to solve similar challenges for fulfilment of voice, data, video, content and multi-media services.”
At Sigma Systems, Mr. Cappellani is responsible for the architectural and technological vision and deliverables for the company’s award-winning Service Management Platform and Solutions Suites. He also plays a key role in helping Sigma’s service provider customers understand the evolution of OSS to the edge of the network and its importance in the delivery of new, on-demand services.

A 12-year telecommunications industry veteran, Mr. Cappellani has extensive experience designing and building large-scale operations and billing support systems.
He is an active participant in TM Forum initiatives, such as the OSS/J technical program, Service Delivery Framework and the Cable Interest Group. Prior to joining Sigma, Mr. Cappellani worked for Accenture in numerous roles of increasing responsibility, including senior-level architecture, engineering and development management positions, held both internally and with Accenture's telecommunications practice, focusing on the wireless and satellite industries. He holds an electrical engineering degree from the University of Waterloo.
