Key British software testing and QA assurance event to be held in London on Thursday 21 June, Professional Tester named as media sponsor
London, UK - 6 June 2012 - Sogeti UK, a leading provider of software testing and infrastructure services to corporate and public sector clients, has announced that TestExpo 2012 will be held on Thursday 21 June, at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London, SW1.
The theme for the event is ‘Shift Left’, reflecting the need for businesses and organisations to tighten overall Application Development lifecycles by ensuring that software testing and Quality Assurance (QA) practices take place at as early a stage as possible in the Lifecycle.
Free to attend for IT, management, software testing and QA professionals, TestExpo 2012 will start at 9am, with doors open for pre-event networking at 8.30am. The event will comprise a full-day exhibition of vendors, specialists and suppliers to the software testing and QA industry, complemented by a conference agenda that addresses the UK software testing industry’s challenges, opportunities and trends. It will finish at 4.30pm. Registration is free at

The keynote ‘PointZERO®: A shift in testing attitudes, tactics and results’, will be given by test strategist Rik Marselis of Sogeti (Twitter @rikmarselis).
Rik Marselis said: “The objective of a ‘Shift Left’ strategy is to reduce the time and number of software iterations within the application lifecycle by bringing testers and development closer together, eliminating silos and increasing results. For many application development and testing teams this requires a real change in culture, and managers who are open-minded to new best practices, encouraging teamwork and training, while delivering application development projects. There are many sceptics out there, some of whom are working in teams that are not consistently delivering timely and cost-effective applications. Shift Left introduces a new way to enhance team working, timelines, deliverables and reputations, and at this year’s TestExpo we want to provide debate, ideas and inspiration for how to harness this valuable way of working.”
Since its launch in 1996, TestExpo has grown to become a respected platform for testing news and innovation, and a valuable forum for debate, discussion and networking among testing professionals. Each event includes a full programme of presentations from software development and testing industry experts and attracts up to 250 attendees. The event encourages the sharing of ideas, through debates and discussions, and all presentations are made available for TestExpo delegates to download after the event.
Key sponsors of the event are: HP, Micro Focus, Monoidics/Express Logic, Original Software and Tricentis.
