“Attendees to last year’s Congress were thrilled with their experience,” said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, executive director of (ISC)². “We more than doubled our attendance over 2011, and the numerous (ISC)2 members I spoke with were impressed by the caliber of both the presenters and sessions. They also appreciated having an intimate setting to interact with their peers and (ISC)² staff, set against the backdrop of a big conference feel. Their satisfaction was also reflected in the feedback we received from the nearly 90 high quality educational sessions that received an overall score of 5.26 out of a possible 6.0 by conference attendees. The 2013 event will offer even more compelling education, networking, and career development opportunities, including a full-scale cyber competition involving all aspects of integrated security.”
The program will also feature pre-conference training, including a two-day intensive seminar for (ISC)²’s Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP®) credentials and two-day education programs for Cloud Security, Mobile Security, Business Continuity Planning (BCP), and Digital Forensics. (ISC)² will also provide free, half-day credential clinics suited to current skills and career paths for those considering becoming (ISC)²-certified, as well as a Career Pavilion that offers attendees career advice and resources, and the opportunity to engage with professional recruiters, universities, and potential employers on site. Congress attendees will be given the opportunity to connect face-to-face with peers from diverse backgrounds and interests, sharing experiences and exchanging ideas at daily networking luncheons.
(ISC)² members will have opportunities to attend exclusive member events, including a networking reception and Town Hall Meeting. The Town Hall Meeting gives (ISC)² members the chance to pose questions to a panel consisting of (ISC)2 executive staff, the Board of Directors, and other organizational leaders. Members interested in becoming a volunteer for (ISC)²’s Safe and Secure Online program will also have the opportunity to participate in an interactive volunteer orientation session.
