NHS Trust is selected as Public Sector Project Finalist with new communications network that transforms service delivery and patient care
Lichfield –24 September, 2010. Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and NextiraOne, Europe’s leading expert in communications services, are celebrating their success as the Trust is named as a finalist in the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards. The Trust’s new communications infrastructure, a Cisco-based advanced Medical Grade Network designed, implemented and project managed by NextiraOne, has been singled out in the Public Sector Project of the Year category.
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust’s Medical Grade Network, implemented in the Emergency Department in October 2009, is delivering excellent results against the Trust’s objectives in relation to clinical outcomes, patient experience, staff satisfaction and value for money. It provides a platform for further improvements and is destined to achieve ROI in under 14 months.
As lead communications consultants, NextiraOne worked with the Trust’s ICT department to design the system and project manage, as part of the Project Board, its installation and implementation to incorporate secure, high performance fixed and wireless networking.
