Paris, 28 June, 2010 - NextiraOne, Europe’s leading expert in communications services, has signed a contract with EXATEL, one of the leading telecommunications operators in Poland, for the modernization of its IP MPLS network. The agreement covers the building of a modern SuperCore platform allowing all services offered by Exatel on the IP MPLS frame network to be migrated to 40 Gb/s lines in Poland and a 10 Gb/s connection to Frankfurt, based on Cisco technology solutions.

The hi-tech EXATEL network will be equipped with highly efficient routers integrated via IP over DWDM lines and offering 40 Gb/s of bandwidth. IPoDWDM technology is an advanced solution that allows bandwidth to quadruple. NextiraOne will also deliver a management solution which enables fault and performance monitoring based on EMC products and proactive SLA management. It also lowers space and energy consumption, eliminates potential malfunctions, facilitates network management and consolidates the infrastructure.

The implementation of this agreement allows EXATEL to deliver more advanced services across Europe, and strengthens its position in the Polish telecoms market. Currently the implementation of 10-40Gb/s bandwidth networks does not exceed 5%.

EXATEL, one of the leading telecommunications operators in Poland, focuses on providing services for business customers and public services. The company’s service lines include network operation, data transmission, leased lines, Internet services, voice services, as well as hosting and co-location. The company’s core area of expertise is in data transmission, especially VPN services based on modern IP MPLS networks, for which EXATEL is a pioneer in the Polish market.

The project is due to start in July and be completed within 7 months.
