Ascribe’s CaMIS PAS solution supports patient care across all care settings within the Trust including outpatient, waiting lists & inpatient care
11 November 2013 – Ascribe, the leading UK provider of integrated healthcare IT services and solutions, is pleased to announce the recent successful Go Live of a fully managed Patient Administration System, CaMIS, at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust (“Mid-Yorks”). The new solution provides a platform to enable the trust to meet their development and improvement priorities.
Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust is a very large organisation spanning three hospital sites with 1,100 Inpatient Beds, and 2,000 clinic attendances a day. The three hospitals are located at Wakefield (Pinderfields), Dewsbury and Pontefract.
James Rawlinson, associate director of IT services at Mid Yorks said: “We needed a system that was well-proven, cost effective and supported our vision of systems optimization and integration.”
The cutover from the Trusts previous PAS (Barwick) began with the migration of data into Ascribe’s CaMIS; in total over 3.5 million rows of data were extracted and uploaded. The data migration was completed and the system handed back to the Trust for acceptance testing over the weekend before going live across all departments at 8.00AM on the Monday morning.
James Rawlinson said, “Overall the Go Live of Ascribe’s PAS went incredibly well. A team of Ascribe floor walkers, including development teams, supplemented the Trust’s own staff to provide additional support over the course of the week.”
Mid Yorks utilised Ascribe’s integration technology (the Health Application Platform) and ‘Choose and Book’ functionality. During the course of the first week, the Trust completed15,000 Outpatient transactions (referrals, bookings and attendances), 5,500 inpatient transactions (admissions, discharges & transfers) and produced 3,000 attendance letters, using the CaMIS clinical correspondence module.
Ascribe’s PAS is a proven, robust and scalable solution, capable of supporting large numbers of users; it already supports over 800 concurrent users at Mid Yorks.
Stephen Critchlow, Executive Chairman of Ascribe, said: “Ascribe is focused on improving patient safety and helping Trusts meet their paperless goals. Our Health Application Platform provides a means to integrate our solutions, and those from third party suppliers, to deliver a full Electronic Patient Record system (“EPR”). This platform ensures that clinicians can make care decisions based on full access to a patient’s medical record, drawing data on demand from multiple connected sources.”
In addition to Ascribe’s PAS, Mid Yorks already use Ascribe’s clinical solutions in their Emergency, Endoscopy and Medical Physics departments.
