Allows the homeowner to watch live footage of their property day and night from a smartphone, tablet or PC

Bracknell, UK - 25 November 2013 - NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQGM: NTGR), a global networking company that delivers innovative products to consumers, businesses and service providers, is introducing NETGEAR VueZone, the UK’s first truly wireless home video monitoring system with night vision.

Have you ever wondered what happens in your home when you’re not there? What your pets are up to while you’re at work or whether that delivery you’ve been waiting for was made on time? The VZSX2800 NETGEAR VueZone motion detection video monitoring system will allow you to watch over your home day or night. By using a connected device – a laptop, smartphone, PC, Mac or tablet – it is possible to keep an eye on infants, elderly relatives, pets, property, holiday homes or businesses, from anywhere at anytime.

The completely wire-free cameras transmit wireless video to a VueZone gateway connected to your WiFi router. Set-up is completely hassle-free and when the motion-sensing cameras detect movement, a clip is sent to an email address from which it can be viewed. When viewing video clips, digital pan and zoom allows an area to be zoomed x2 for closer inspection.

The system comes complete with everything required to set up your own day and night video monitoring system, including an indoor motion detection camera (VZCM2050) and a night vision motion detection camera (VZCN2060). All that is then required to access and view your camera is  a high-speed internet connection, an available LAN port on your router and a web browser or compatible smartphone.

VueZone cameras can be placed anywhere, meaning live photos and videos can be taken both inside and outside the home. Cameras can transmit up to 300 feet (line of sight) back to the VueZone gateway, which should adequately cover homes of less than 2500 sq feet. Homeowners can schedule a one-off or set recording time. Recordings are either 10 or 40 seconds and can be stored online, shared via email and or via platforms such as YouTube and Flickr.

Rob Wells, director UK retail business unit, NETGEAR, said: “VueZone will give homeowners real peace of mind, allowing them to check on their properties whenever they like. Whether they’re at work or on holiday, people can now cast a virtual eye over their homes and gardens to make sure everything is in order. As motion sensing cameras automatically record activity and email clips to account holders, homeowners will have more control over what happens when they are not there.”

Depending on the service plan chosen, up to 15 VueZone cameras can be used on one VueZone account, and each camera is uniquely addressable and shareable. With normal usage (five minutes of recording or viewing a day), VueZone camera batteries last for six months.

NETGEAR’s VueZone Home Video Monitoring System is available to buy now. For more information, and to buy, please visit the following website:
