January 5th 2012 - National Electronics Week North Africa will be the ONLY electronics show for Tunisia in 2012 and will be held on 13th - 14th June at the modern UTICA building in Tunis, well known for business and enterprise.

North Africa offers a strong platform for electronics and Tunisia is one of the leading countries for manufacturing, it has many high level contract manufacturers and offers high level design capabilities. 2012 will see this event in the format that the 2011 show had originally been forecasted before the postponement due to the political unrest in this region.

This event offers a low cost marketing opportunity for anyone wishing to explore this emerging sector and will be supported by leading trade associations in the region. Additionally, the UKTI recognise this as a key business opportunity and will be offering eligible UK companies grant funding and support to exhibit.

The Tunisian electronics industry is a highly performing sector enjoying dynamic development at all levels. During the first 8 months of 2011, the growth rate of exportation has reached 19.9 %. Made up of more than 233 foreign companies, 221 of which are operating under the totally exporting regime. The Tunisian electronics industry has acquired a know-how within a scheme of subcontracting meeting the quality standards (ISO9000-1-2;ISO TS 16649-ISO14000;SEI CMM 5) and qualifications.

The Tunisian electronic companies have turned to the production and assembly of electronic components using sophisticated processes. Such achievements have allowed the Tunisian industry to respond to market demand and position itself on niches with more specific techniques.

The sector has as well acquired very sharp competencies in fields like embedded software, electronic and microelectronic design and mechanical engineering in several fields as telecommunication, avionics, automotive, security and smart card and industry.

National Electronics Week North Africa joins the New Events group of exhibitions in 2012, confirmed events are National Electronics Week South Africa from 13th – 14th March and the NEW:UK event which will form part of the UKs largest gathering of manufacturing professionals at the NEC Birmingham from 18th – 19th April.
