The launch of the service by Voilà and Unibank last week follows a successful nine month pilot which provided international relief and development agency, Mercy Corps, with a secure and cost effective way of distributing money across Haiti to support reconstruction efforts.
T-Cash, which is enabled by MoreMagic Solutions’ industry-leading Mobile Commerce and Financial Services (MCFS) technology platform, MCFS:Suite™, is bringing the benefits of basic financial services to hundreds of thousands of people in Haiti for the first time. With T-Cash’s electronic wallet, Voila customers can now make peer-to-peer money transfers, pay bills and receive payments. Funds received can be converted into cash, or used to purchase items such as food and shelter materials.
