Richard Whitehead joins Moogsoft, contributing experience gained at Splunk, EMC and Micromuse
San Francisco, CA and London, UK – March 10, 2014 – Moogsoft, the leading provider of service assurance software for IT and telecommunications, today announced the opening of a New York City area office in Hoboken, NJ. The company also announced the appointment of Richard Whitehead as Evangelist in Chief for Incident.MOOG. Mr. Whitehead, who served on Splunk Technology’s Advisory Board for seven years, was instrumental in bringing Micromuse Netcool (now IBM Tivoli Netcool) to the U.S. market in the mid-1990s.
“Richard’s breadth of experience in product strategy, his passion for service assurance and his years of working on software delivery to support IT operations in the trenches make him a fantastic addition to the Moogsoft team,” said Phil Tee, CEO of Moogsoft. “Richard was the first “boots on the ground” for Netcool in the U.S. and he brings a keen sense of what is required to make a transformational solution a global success.”
In addition to serving on the Advisory Boards of Splunk Technology, RedSeal and Meriton Networks, Richard turned around the SMARTS portfolio at EMC and served as CTO at Clarus Systems. At Micromuse, Richard was a well-respected Technology Evangelist, responsible for identifying strategic market development opportunities, nurturing partnerships and researching product direction.
“Moogsoft is on the cusp of the new “Situation Management” revolution in service assurance,” said Whitehead. “I am thrilled to be working again with Phil Tee, inventor of Netcool, and to accelerate the transformation of 20th century alert consoles into analytics and socially-enabled Situation Rooms to meet 21st century demands.” Richard will host an upcoming webinar discussing the new role that social collaboration and adaptive analytics will play in IT operations.
