Cost effective virtualisation and cloud management solution set to open up SME market for cloud consultancy services
STUTTGART, Germany –
Magirus, a leading European IT solutions provider has signed a pan-European distribution agreement with Embotics, a Canadian company which is a leader in virtualisation and private cloud management software. The partnership represents Embotics’ first pan-EMEA distribution agreement. The deal gives Magirus’ 6,000-strong European resellers access to Embotics V-Commander™, a virtualisation and private cloud management solution, which has been designed and priced competitively to address the mid-market (250 virtual machines and above). Specifically, Embotics’ virtualisation and cloud management products present resellers with an out-of-the-box, cost effective software solution to sell consultancy services to help enterprises better manage their virtualised servers and move to efficient private cloud deployments.
A major benefit of Embotics V-Commander is that it is simple to use. Its wizard-driven interface may be installed and configured in just 15 minutes. It allows users to provision VMs themselves, and manages the request and approval workflow process from end-to-end, and offers chargeback and IT costing analysis. It also helps to keep private cloud resources optimised by providing a 360° view of the entire virtualised environment, eliminating virtual server sprawl, ensuring operational efficiency, saving on costs and resources. For example, in one instance it revealed to a CIO that each of his organisation’s virtual machines had been allocated 32 Gb of RAM when only 1% was being used. Such information is presented in an easy to read format that is ascribed in euros or sterling so that business decisions can be made quickly.
“Embotics joining our vendor portfolio gives our resellers and their customers the possibility to migrate from virtualised to private cloud environments,” said Christian Magirus, Chief Operating Officer at Magirus. “Its products will open the door for resellers who want to step up to provide consultancy services and offers another string to the bow for those who are already acting as trusted cloud advisers,” he added.
“Magirus ticked all our boxes. It was the natural choice to be our first pan-European distributor due to its continental footprint and expertise in virtualised data centres and cloud computing services,” said Jay Litkey, Embotics CEO. “There is a huge market opportunity for European resellers to go into organisations with small virtual environments and offer consultancy services – performing comprehensive assessments that show the reality of their virtual estates, what infrastructure they own, what resources they are consuming and how to right-size and migrate to private cloud deployments. The ROI can be measured in weeks.”
Magirus and Embotics will undertake joint marketing efforts to recruit channel partners. A series of workshops are being planned. In addition, Embotics is gearing up to help serve new channel business by recruiting pre and post-sales staff and technical architects.
