Miniaturized SDK’s offer a choice of both size and processing platform
26 May 2010 – Liquavista BV, today announced its latest set of System Development Kits aimed at enabling device makers the ability to trial the technology for use in various consumer electronics devices. Available for both LiquavistaBright mono and LiquavistaColor color 6” and 8.5” electrowetting displays, these new Kits have been specifically developed to facilitate early development for the manufacturers of advanced eReader and Tablet devices.
“As part of our strategy it’s really important to us that we provide our customers with the maximum experience when evaluating Liquavista Products” said Guy Demuynck, Liquavista’s CEO. “This new generation of SDKs have been specifically enhanced to enable a more realistic view of the products that can be created using Liquavista’s displays, and are fully supported by the industry’s leading semiconductor suppliers.”
“The new SDK’s can better facilitate UI and application development by providing a more representative form factor of any mobile device, such as an eReader” stated Eric Derckx, VP Engineering “They can be addressed by all industry leading interfaces and can be delivered with an integrated Texas Instruments OMAP or Freescale i.MX51host CPU platform. These SDKs also utilize the latest addressing algorithms, fully employing the intelligent adaptive low power behaviour of the display.”
Liquavista Generation 2 SDKS include a choice of either a 6” or 8.5” electrowetting display, driving circuitry, a Linux based operating system as well as a choice of either a TI OMAP or Freescale i.MX51 mobile application processor. Available on the LiquavistaBright and LiquavistaColor platforms, Liquavista’s new SDK’s offer customers a more realistic product evaluation and help them drive concept development projects and new product innovation based on Liquavista’s new revolutionary electrowetting displays.
