The London Internet Exchange (LINX) has announced that it is attending and presenting at PLNOG5, the fifth meeting of the Polish Network Operators’ Group. The event, which attracts nearly 500 Internet professionals from around the world, is being held in Krakow, Poland, on the 21-22 October, 2010.
PLNOG is the only Polish conference dedicated entirely to telecommunication network issues. Established in 2008, it was originally part of an initiative that aimed to enable effective cooperation between the local ISP market in Poland. It is now seen as one of the most important networking events in Europe.
LINX Business Development Executive, Jennifer Atherton, said, "PLNOG provides LINX with an excellent opportunity to meet network operators, not just from Poland, but from across Europe and beyond. The Internet infrastructure in this region has developed rapidly in recent years as has the PLNOG event itself. We at LINX are always looking to broaden the routing options available for our 370 plus members so it is very important that we are here."
Polish national and LINX Senior Network Engineer, Bartek Raszczyk, will make a presentation during the peering panel session on PLNOG's second day. Bartek has also helped prepare a corporate leaflet in Polish which explains the benefits of LINX membership as well as the peering services on offer at the exchange.
