New 802.11n access point with internal antennas and anti-theft

LONDON, UK, Tuesday 1st June, 2010 – Network specialist LANCOM Systems is adding to its current range of 802.11n access points. The LANCOM L-320agn Wireless is equipped with a dual-band radio module and MIMO antennas discreetly incorporated into the housing. In combination with another new product, the LANCOM Wall Mount Adapter anti-theft mechanism, the LANCOM L-320agn Wireless is an ideal solution for establishing wireless networks in public areas such as at universities, libraries, hotels, etc., but also in highly sensitive areas such as clinics, nursing homes and schools.

The outstanding feature of the LANCOM L-320agn Wireless is its 100% backwards compatibility with older 802.11a/b/g clients. It provides gross data rates of up to 300 Mbps. The device is also equipped with a comprehensive range of security features, including fully functional 802.11i with WPA2 and AES encryption, and also 802.1x/EAP (WPA Enterprise) for high-security environments. The device supports network virtualisation with Multi-SSID and VLAN.

The LANCOM L-320agn Wireless is equipped with a radio module, transmitting optionally on the 2.4- or 5-GHz band, and connection to the network is via a Gigabit Ethernet interface. The access point has an energy-efficient design allowing it to be supplied with power via PoE (IEEE 802.af).

Like all LANCOM access points, the new model optionally operates in stand-alone mode or in combination with a LANCOM WLAN controller / wireless switch.

Anti-theft mechanism for LANCOM access points & WLAN routers
Also new to the LANCOM range of products is a simple but effective anti-theft mechanism for all LANCOM indoor WLAN access points and routers. The LANCOM Wall Mount Adapter makes light work of mounting the devices on the wall or ceiling. They simply click into the mounting and are locked in place by security bars. The padlock supplied provides effective protection against theft.
