Jadu announces ‘Weejot’ mobile web app publishing service
« Posted: October 12, 2011, 09:40:53 PM »

Leicester, UK - October 12th 2011 - Jadu, Inc., a global Web Content Management vendor today announced a new mobile web publishing service called ‘Weejot’ that will enable organisations and brands to easily publish apps to the rapidly expanding mobile web.

Weejot, a breakthrough new service, is delivered through a cloud based software as a service (SaaS) network. It provides organisations and marketers with the tools to deploy and manage mobile web applications based on apps and icons that can be deployed to handheld devices supporting the HTML5 and CSS3 standards such as iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone devices.

“It’s too difficult for organisations to deploy task based mobile web applications that use content from their own corporate systems. We’ve made it easy for non-technical managers and marketers to create and deploy apps to mobile devices,” said Suraj Kika, Jadu’s CEO.

Weejot provides tools to create and deploy apps inside the Weejot ‘AppStudio’. It uses data from back office systems, social networks and content management systems as well as embedding maps and the ability to share and distribute those apps over the web. Developers can use the Weejot Software Development Kit (SDK) to develop their own ‘AppTemplates’ which can then connect to back office systems to present mobile data.

The Weejot service has been designed for any organisation to easily deploy web applications. The service also allows organisations using Jadu products to build mobile applications easily through integrated ‘out- of-the-box’ AppTemplates.

“This isn’t just a presentation of your full website on a mobile,” said Suraj, “this is a new, better way of deploying apps using the mobile web, which are task focused. Mobile users want fast and immediate access to your key products, services and content - and whilst it is important your website works on all devices and uses a responsive design, it is also critical that you service the needs of the mobile user in a way they want to access.”

As a second phase, Jadu will be integrating the Weejot service with many popular open source publishing systems such as Drupal and Wordpress, as well as social networks like Twitter and Facebook. Jadu has made it possible to develop a unique task orientated ‘portal’ mobile experience. Users can sign up to the service and deploy a mobile web application with customised apps and icons within minutes.

Jadu’s move into the mobile web space complements the company’s suite of enterprise web experience and content management products - which includes Jadu CMS, Jadu XFP (online forms) and Rupa Portal (a solution that uses search as a basis for portal and collaboration functionality). Jadu recently announced that its XFP forms product has been deployed for the UK Government’s website Directgov.

Customers who have adopted the Weejot service ahead of launch include a number of key Government departments and the University of Leeds.

Whilst the Jadu Mobile platform will initially be launched for Jadu customers, the full Weejot service and support for other content systems and networks is due to go live in quarter one of 2012.

Jadu is accepting early registrations on the Weejot service and is inviting organisations and personal account users to secure their user names. You can secure your personal and organisation user name at www.weejot.com and registration is on a first come first served basis. Organisations can also authenticate using their Twitter account details.

Jadu will unveil the Jadu Mobile offering as part of its Universe Web Experience Platform at the EDUCAUSE Conference in Philadelphia on October 18th.
