…United Planet introduces latest version of enterprise portal software Intrexx and a new edition for small enterprises...

London, 24 March 2010 – United Planet (www.unitedplanet.com), one of the leading developers of enterprise portal software in Europe, is pleased to announce that the latest version of Intrexx is now available. Intrexx 5 will enable companies to create web applications for mobile devices such as the iPhone, BlackBerry and others, delivering customer data and employee information to mobile devices quickly and easily. According to United Planet, an entire enterprise portal can be made mobile in only a few days, using a special page generator that is incorporated into Intrexx.

A new Designer allows companies to create internet pages with high performance as well as largely barrier-free accessible web applications. Intrexx 5 also features a revamped Process Designer that incorporates new features and wizards to make the management of business processes even more flexible and easy.

At the same time as announcing Intrexx 5, United Planet is re-branding Intrexx Xtreme for medium-sized businesses as Intrexx Professional (www.unitedplanet.com/en/pro) and launching a dedicated version of Intrexx for smaller companies called Intrexx Compact (www.unitedplanet.com/en/compact). While Intrexx Professional includes a complete enterprise portal for mid-sized businesses, Intrexx Compact offers a portal for companies with up to 25 PC workstations that is ready for immediate use. Both portals can be accessed using either a web browser or a smartphone.

The Intrexx Compact Portal contains more than 50 ready-to-use web applications and templates that are specifically tailored to meet the requirements of smaller businesses and that help organisations to manage internal processes more efficiently. Specialised sales applications such as a customer relationship management (CRM), contract management, or an sales activity and marketing planner are included alongside Web 2.0 applications (such as a company wiki), allowing businesses to consolidate company knowledge and information with ease. Just as with Intrexx Professional, Intrexx Compact also allows companies to integrate data from existing systems into the portal and make this data available for mobile use with just a few clicks of the mouse.

Unlike other solutions in this market sector, Intrexx Compact can be customised to meet individual business requirements. No previous programming experience is required; new applications can be created very quickly and simply, added to the portal, and transferred onto a smartphone as required.
