LONDON 6 October 2010 – Interxion, a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, today announced its Gold Sponsorship of Streaming Media Europe 2010, organised by Streaming Media Global, one of the world’s leading experts in online streaming media content. The event will take place at the Novotel London West, London, on 14-15 October 2010.
The event will consist of in-depth presentations, case studies, ‘how-to’s’ and panel discussions designed for content owners, video creators, online marketers, corporate communications professionals and broadcast professionals. The range of events planned for Streaming Media Europe 2010 forms a unique platform for the online video industry, focusing on both business and technology solutions.
As part of Interxion’s support for the event, its Director of Digital Media, Vincent In’t Veld will be participating in a panel discussion entitled ‘Content Producers and Carriers: Best Friends Forever?’. The panel discussion will explain how rocketing consumer expectations mean that digitised assets need failsafe infrastructures and the partnership between data centres, carriers and connectivity services, working together to close the gap between the producer's impulse to create and the subscriber's impulse to consume. It will also cover the issue of how robust networks and managed services offer both flexibility and scalability and are now invaluable links in the rich-media supply chain.
Interxion will also be explaining how carrier neutral data centres are playing an increasingly significant role in the delivery of premium online content, looking specifically at its Content Hubs, which house a community of Content Providers, Content Management Platforms, Distribution Networks, Tier 1 ISPs and Internet Exchanges creating a true in-house eco-system for digital media companies.
“Streaming Media Europe brings together some of the leading industry players in the digital media space and provides an excellent forum for discussion of trends seen in the market, including flexibility and scalability to name but two,” said Kevin Dean Chief Marketing Officer, Interxion. “We are very much looking forward to contributing to the event and explaining how colocation data centres provide an ideal environment for effective content aggregation, exchange, storage, transcoding, management and distribution.”
Streaming Media West Conference Chair, Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen commented, “It is great to see organisations like Interxion getting involved in our events, and it really illustrates the growth and adoption of data centre technology in the digital media sector. It is fair to say that carrier neutral data centres are now playing a critical role in the value chain for the aggregation and distribution of online content and I’m confident Streaming Media Europe will act as a great platform for Interxion to discuss this exciting new trend.”
