LONDON – Monday 25, November 2013 – insynergi, the bespoke coaching, mentoring and training company, has released a free whitepaper to help organisations understand and secure successful change management.  Entitled “Successful Change Management Requires Emotional Intelligence, Not Just Process”, the whitepaper is available to download at http://bit.ly/IfDWNz

The insynergi white paper examines the challenges in managing and implementing organisational change and explains why traditional approaches do not fully meet today’s business needs.  It reveals the real skills and attributes that are needed by chief executives, change leaders, project sponsors, project and portfolio directors and project managers in order to avoid potentially costly and disruptive failure and outlines a new definition of change management.

Eddie Kilkelly, Managing Director at insynergi, comments, “Organisations operate in a rapidly changing and highly competitive global business environment, across different offices, countries, time zones, cultures and languages – so it comes as no surprise that many change management initiatives have a high risk of failure.  Much of what is distilled in training is focused around the need to have the right skills and processes – however in an increasingly complex work environment having the right people skills is of equal if not more importance.”

A study by PricewaterhouseCoopers reviewed 10,640 projects from 200 companies across various industries in 30 countries.  Only 2.5% of the companies successfully completed 100% of their projects.

Kilkelly adds, “People are the heart of any change management programme.  Well managed people deliver projects and programmes more efficiently, reducing risk, time, effort and costs. Successful change leaders will look at their people first, to proactively manage and guide individuals and this will help to identify possible weaknesses – including skills - at the start of the process.”

In October 2013, the company launched the insynergi Change Academy which delivers skills improvement through a combination of bespoke training, coaching and mentoring schemes. The framework is structured to operate at a number of levels including Project Sponsors, Project Leaders, Project Managers and Project Associates.  Academy members are also encouraged to continue their development through a self-sustaining community of professionals. This continuous development plan intends to help close the gap between learning, implementing new skills and delivering tangible results.
