...Improving project management skills through e-learning and classroom support...
LONDON - Wednesday 3rd November 2010 – ILX Group plc, the global software company delivering innovative Best Practice training solutions, today announced that it is working with Croydon College to help deliver PRINCE2® training for individuals currently out of work or on redundancy notice. The six week course involves 76 hours classroom support at Croydon College and access to the e-learning modules hosted by the ILX Group.
With over 13,000 students, Croydon College is one of the largest providers of Further and Higher Education courses in the South East. To date Croydon College has provided PRINCE2® training to 65 students in just six months and three delegates have secured permanent employment post completion of the course.
Mark Maddison, Senior employability manager at Croydon College, commented, “Last year we found an increasing number of students and applicants requesting access to PRINCE2® due to the rise in job advertisements seeking this qualification so we looked for a partner to help deliver the PRINCE elements. After a careful selection process we decided that the ILX Group would be a good fit. Our programme has been successfully running now for several months and the results are continuing to improve each time we run the course. The combination of classroom and web learning makes this proposition a cost effective solution during a difficult economic time and also allows students to gain flexible learning at a pace that suits them.”
Eddie Kilkelly, Chief Operating Officer at the ILX Group, commented, “We are delighted to be working with Croydon College. Linking the theoretical side to internationally recognised professional qualifications continues be a big focus for students and educational institutions. As best practice techniques become more embedded in an organisation, it provides a familiar experience of project implementation thus increasing the potential for successful outcomes. It therefore comes as no surprise that more job applications are requesting this qualification because PRINCE2 is a de facto standard for project management in the UK and is now used throughout the world.”
