Imprivata OneSign allows roaming workers fast, simple and secure No Click Access to their virtual desktop by replacing manual entry of usernames and passwords with a tap of a badge or swipe of a fingerprint for authentication and single sign-on.
Reading, UK October 15th, 2012 – IGEL Technology, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of thin clients, will integrate Imprivata OneSign into its range of Universal Desktops to provide roaming workers with No Click Access to virtual desktops. By replacing the manual entry of usernames and passwords with just a tap of a badge or fingerprint swipe for authentication and single sign-on, IGEL and Imprivata deliver roaming workforces, such as healthcare workers, with a fast, secure and simple way to access virtual desktops. Studies have shown physicians can save nearly 15 minutes a day by using its OneSign solution, giving back 60 additional hours a year to see an additional 240 patients[1].
As a member of the Imprivata Developer Program (IDP), IGEL is integrating Imprivata OneSign authentication capabilities into its firmware for both its Windows and Linux devices, including its new System on a Chip UD2-LX MultiMedia device, enabling secure authentication with an ID proximity badge, traditional Smart Card or fingerprint to Citrix XenDesktop / XenApp with HDX™ and VMware View with PCoIP® environments.
“The integration of Imprivata into IGEL’s firmware further underlines our commitment to providing our customers with the most open and functional thin clients available on the market,” said Matthias Toupalas, IGEL Product Manager. “Imprivata OneSign has already had a significant impact in the healthcare market allowing roaming workers to quickly, simply and securely access information and giving them more time to spend with patients.”
“Highly mobile healthcare workforces stand to benefit greatly from thin client implementations,” commented Jaap van Noorden, Director of Business Development EMEA for Imprivata. “The integration of Imprivata OneSign No Click Access with the new IGEL System on a Chip UD2-LX MultiMedia device is a powerful combination that improves efficiency for care providers. In addition, IT benefits from centralized management and control. Our joint solution improves clinician productivity and satisfaction while reducing IT costs -- it’s a winning combination for healthcare organizations.”
IGEL Technology will demonstrate its new IGEL System on a Chip UD2-LX MultiMedia device with Imprivata OneSign integration at Citrix Synergy 2012 in Barcelona from October 16th-19th.
