Target to Recruit and Certify 40 new Resellers to cover all major Australian cities

Australia. May 18th, 2010 – IGEL Technology and Australian distribution partner Techplus Distribution today announced plans to strengthen its value-added reseller (VAR) base with the addition of 40 new channel partners to cover all Australia’s major cities.

Working with IGEL and Techplus gives Australian resellers the opportunity to tap into the fast growing thin client and desktop virtualization market. IGEL’s hardware, software and migration solutions enable resellers to offer their customers access to hosted virtual desktops and cloud computing resources. Based on its strong worldwide relationships, IGEL delivers cross-selling opportunities with well-known brands such as Citrix Xen, VMware, Microsoft Server and Quest.

IGEL’s Universal Desktop strategy is unique and enables organizations to deliver all their server-based applications, anywhere, with the best user experience, security, ease of management, and lowest total cost of ownership (TCO). The software, or firmware, embedded in every IGEL Universal Desktop is highly multi-functional and contains the industry’s largest collection of server-based protocols for connecting to centralized applications. IGEL offers Linux, Windows Embedded Standard and Windows Embedded CE with a choice of Entry, Standard and Advanced Feature Packs, ensuring customers only pay for what they need.

In addition, each Universal Desktop comes with IGEL’s Universal Management Suite; an extremely powerful yet easy to use software application that allows you to remotely deploy and manage your thin client estate. This keeps total cost of ownership to a minimum, accelerates return on investment (ROI), optimizes security and ensures maximum desktop productivity and uptime.

Alastair Welsh, IGEL General Manager for Australia, said: “By joining IGEL’s partner program, VARs will be working with a 100% channel focused company that can offer a range of benefits including low cost entry into a strongly growing market, access to marketing funds, deal registration and price protection, free evaluation units with a high conversion rate, as well as training and webinars to develop the sales team.”
