AMSTERDAM 12 May 2011 – INTERXION HOLDING NV, (NYSE: INXN), a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, today announced that it has been selected by the EMEA division of HMSHost, a world leader in travel dining and shopping, to provide data centre colocation for the company’s mission-critical infrastructure. HMSHost now runs data and application infrastructure for its EMEA operations in Interxion’s AMS3 data centre.

HMSHost operates a wide range of premium-brand restaurants and retail stores in both airports worldwide and motorway travel plazas in North America.  The company’s EMEA division is headquartered in Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.  HMSHost manages 72 consumer-facing outlets in Schiphol alone, employing over 1,500 people during peak season. All of HMSHost’s EMEA network infrastructure is routed via the firm’s Headquarters, and the company’s on-site ICT infrastructure at Schiphol is now mirrored in Interxion’s AMS3 facility in order to guarantee 24x7 availability. Following the successful implementation of the new mirror site, plans are now underway to launch next generation applications which will be provisioned from its Interxion-based infrastructure, including a Virtual Desktop (VDI) environment for staff across the region.

“Our initial requirements were quite straightforward – a highly secure, well-connected facility, located close to our Headquarters in Schiphol,” said Erik Wouterson, IT Manager, HMSHost EMEA. “Since choosing Interxion we have been very impressed with the level of service that we have received, and we are now looking to launch a range of new applications that will improve the efficiency of our operations across EMEA. These will also be hosted at Interxion.”

“Global enterprises like HMSHost need the latest and most reliable data centre infrastructure to power their growth, and that is what we provide,” said Michel van den Assem, Managing Director, Interxion Nederland BV. “We look forward to developing our relationship with them by maximising availability of their customer-facing and support systems and helping them to drive further efficiencies which add value to the business.”
