London, 31 January 2011: R1 Group, a UK-based digital agency, has selected EPiServer as the content platform for the new GOCityGirl website; an innovative social commerce portal for female visitors to shop, find information and engage with friends. The EPiServer platform is allowing GOCityGirl to develop, manage and measure all aspects of its online presence, while giving visitors to the site the ability to create a completely unique experience through customisation.
GOCityGirl is at the vanguard of the new online shopping concept that draws inspiration from the social dimension of how women shop. EPiServer was the ideal platform, allowing R1 Group to integrate social networking and commerce to bring GOCityGirl’s vision of a vibrant, all-female social network and customisable e-tail experience to life.
EPiServer’s social capabilities have enabled GOCityGirl to take advantage of the power of social commerce with a series of widgets. These enable shoppers to create and manage their own web portal by customising content such as job listings, celebrity gossip and shopping to create a unique online experience.
To ensure the site remains up to date, behavioural tracking through the LiveMonitor module provides a real-time view of traffic on the site, enabling the GOCityGirl team to adapt content and personalise information almost instantaneously, for a dynamic user experience.
James Burbridge, Founder of R1 Group, said: “EPiServer gave us the ideal foundation to build the GOCityGirl site. Not only have we been able to integrate a wide range of bespoke features allowing visitors to customise their visit, the platform gives the GOCityGirl team full control over every aspect of the site, to quickly and easily update content on a regular basis. By making full use of the personalisation and community tools, we have also ensured GOCityGirl can keep the site fresh and engaging for visitors.”
Neal Perry, UK Country Manager UK EPiServer, commented: “EPiServer has ensured that GOCityGirl can give its web visitors the opportunity to actively play a part in curating its content, alongside the editors, to deliver an engaging experience that will keep visitors returning for more. A flexible platform with strong community tools will allow for ongoing, real-time optimisation to give GOCityGirl the opportunity to tweak and fine-tune the site on a daily basis.”
