November 17th 2011 - Geonovo, the designer and manufacturers of the acclaimed RSP-100 personal safety phone have just scooped the “Best Innovation 2011” prize in London at the Telecare Services Associations Crystal Awards ceremony last night at the Hilton Metropole
The awards ceremony was part of the 'International Telecare & Telehealth Conference' held by the TSA each year.
The runners up for Best Innovation were Tynetec Ltd and Tunstall Healthcare (UK) Ltd in partnership with Worcestershire County Council.

Peter Lusty, Geonovo’s Chief Executive commented “This is great news and confirms our leading position in mobile healthcare. We are especially thrilled with this prize as it is the second in as many weeks”.

Geonovo also won first prize in a competition help by the UKT&I on 31st October 2011 to exhibit their new device on the UKT&I stand at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2012.

Best Innovation 2011 was awarded to Geonovo for their RSP-100 Personal Safety Phone which is used by the Telecare industry for Alzheimer’s sufferers, elderly, vulnerable and lone workers. It is a simplified mobile phone with built-in GPS tracking and an SOS alarm which is monitored 24/7 by specialist alarm response centres around the UK.

There is also a Smartphone App that enables families and carers to monitor the RSP-100 devices from their handsets, wherever they are.

Trevor Single, TSA’s Chief Executive stated: “ The calibre of entries was exceptionally high, and the independent panel of judges found it difficult to choose the winners. It is heartening to be part of an industry that continues to push the barriers of innovation and service delivery, and know that the TSA membership continues to go from strength to strength.”
