Genesis Technical Systems Hosts Key UK Telecoms Technical Group Meeting

Coventry, UK, 25 November, 2013 – Genesis Technical Systems, a provider of superfast Broadband over copper, has hosted a key meeting of NICC’s Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Task Group at its Coventry headquarters. NICC is a technical forum for the UK communications sector that develops interoperability standards for public communications networks and services in the UK.

As a member of NICC, Genesis welcomes the recent publication of the ND1436 wires-only VDSL2 modem test plan, which is NICC’s most recent deliverable from its DSL Technical Group. ND1436 defines the interoperability tests for VDSL2-based customer premise equipment to interwork with a wires-only VDSL2 interface.
Incorporating global standards, the test plan is useful to Communication Providers that wish to consume a wires-only superfast broadband product, as well as vendors that want to supply VDSL2-based consumer premise equipment.

“The NICC is an important standards body leading the way in developing interoperability standards throughout the UK industry” said Nigel Hall, Managing Director at Genesis Technical Systems. “We are delighted to host such a high profile group here in our Coventry offices, and believe that the NICC’s standards will help enable us to deliver high quality copper broadband solutions to our customers.”

The DSL Task Group meeting took place ahead of next week’s NICC Open Forum (28 November) which is being held at One Great George Street, Westminster London. The Forum will throw a spotlight on nuisance calls, cyber security, optical fibre, VDSL2 and copper networks.
