Partnership to help Fujitsu deliver Virtual Client Services (VCS) its global desktop virtualization solution

UK & Ireland, 6th April 2011 – ChangeBASE Limited the global leader in automated application compatibility testing and remediation announce a partnership with Fujitsu. Using the AOK software Fujitsu are able to offer an automated solution for ascertaining and addressing compatibility issues of applications while migrating to a new Windows or Virtual Operating Platform. The AOK software forms a key element of Fujitsu's Virtual Client Services (VCS) which is Fujitsu's global solution for delivering desktop virtualization. The AOK software enables automated testing and remediation of applications against the potential virtualized platforms.

One of the issues many organisations currently face is how to update aging Microsoft Windows XP and Office environments for their client base – and how to achieve this cost effectively.  In the virtual desktop world, problematic legacy applications are hosted remotely in isolated environments, yet still used within modern operating systems and application suites such as Windows 7 and Office 2010. The partnership will help Fujitsu to deliver a differentiated value proposition in the growing market for virtualization and result in a significant speed of the transition to new technologies and cost reductions.

Commenting on the partnership, Tina Quenault, Service Offering Manager Fujitsu UK & Ireland, said, "The partnership with ChangeBASE positions us well to take advantage of the growing market for VCS globally. Application Assessment, is crucial to understand the proportion of the customer's application estate that can be delivered by a given application delivery framework. This, along with compatibility testing and remediation really enables us to drive down cost and speed up the delivery of the transformed service".

"We are delighted that Fujitsu chose AOK as its tool of choice within its global desktop virtualisation solution to automatically test and remediate applications for target platforms," said John Tate, Managing Director, ChangeBASE, adding "together, Fujitsu can save businesses thousands of man days and potentially millions of dollars over standard manual approaches to file and application compatibility testing and remediation."
