Building IPTV specialist demonstrates commitment to professional development with the introduction of a new IPTV training course

London, 30th August 2011: Exterity, the Building IPTV specialist, today announced the launch of its Continued Professional Development (CPD) certified training programme for Information Technology (IT), Audio Visual (AV), Building Services and Mechanical & Electrical Consultants. The move follows the company’s accreditation to full CPD membership; a positive step forward for the IPTV industry and a great opportunity for consultants to receive expert training about the power of AV over IP distribution.

The new training programme signifies Exterity’s commitment to knowledge sharing and professional development within the IT/AV sectors. Exterity will combine its 10 years of market leading IPTV knowledge with the respected CPD training structure to provide attendees with a unique service. The courses will enable consultancy firms to improve the skills, knowledge and capabilities of their workforce, allowing them to stay at the cutting edge of technological advances – while winning and retaining more business.

“As the AV and IT sectors evolve, technologies such as Building IPTV grow in popularity. Many professionals are increasingly recognising the importance of upgrading their knowledge and skill sets in order to offer customers a first class specification. When you combine this need to keep skillsets up to date with the current economic climate, personal development has never been more important. This is an exciting move for Exterity and an opportunity to share our breadth of knowledge in the IPTV sector, bringing benefits to all,” said Colin Farquhar, CEO, Exterity.

The move will further strengthen Exterity’s reputation as the global leader in AV over IP distribution. Attendees can expect to gain from the programme by extending their IPTV skill set, increasing workforce efficiency and help improving their organisation’s corporate image. As a result, the move has been welcomed by staff and partners alike, who have seen real value in the programme.

Discussing the course Gary Newlands of leading consultancy firm Troup Bywaters & Anders said: “CPD training in today’s fragile economic times is more important than ever. As consultants, keeping abreast of the latest technological developments and keeping skill levels and employability high is key. The Exterity CPD certified training for IT and AV consultants offers great information about a technology more and more organisations are embracing to gain a competitive advantage. We feel that being fully trained in this area will provide TB&A with a competitive edge.”

Exterity’s Building IPTV solutions enable organisations to use existing building, campus, or wide-area IP networks to leverage the power of TV and video for success. With Building IPTV, an organisation can also supply an unlimited number of users with TV from all over the world with a range of AV services including: executive and training presentations, video on-demand, informational videos, and digital signage. Building IPTV enables organisations to utilise their existing TV’s, AV displays and even personal computers for TV and video delivery while supporting digital switchover and ever-higher picture quality and resolution.
