United Kingdom, London, October 2, 2013 – EnterpriseDB (EDB), the leading worldwide provider of enterprise-class PostgreSQL and Oracle database compatibility products and services, today announced that the company is a leading sponsor of PostgreSQL Conference Europe 2013, the largest PostgreSQL conference in Europe. EnterpriseDB is also staging specialized training programs at the conference to help meet the growing demand for Postgres skills, expertise and best practices.
The conference will take place October 29 – November 1 2013 in Dublin, Ireland. Each year, PostgreSQL Europe draws business and database professionals from across Europe to exchange experiences and learn new skills for using Postgres to support business objectives. Tom Kincaid, Vice President of Products and Engineering at EnterpriseDB, will be presenting a forward look at the database market in the years to come. His closing keynote, “PostgreSQL in 5 Years – Expectations from the market place,” will begin at 15:25 on November 1.
EnterpriseDB, which employs some of the most prolific and dedicated members of the Postgres community, provides support and education to help foster growth and innovation among developers and educate the business community on using Postgres to cut costs and meet business goals. As interest in Postgres continues to expand, EnterpriseDB is developing new educational programs to meet the growing demand for training.
“PostgreSQL Conference Europe represents an opportunity for European PostgreSQL users and developers to engage in a meaningful dialogue about their experiences,” said Sandor Klein, Managing Director Europe, Middle East and Africa for EnterpriseDB. “Our educational programs also provide an opportunity for database professionals and application developers to enhance their skills and deploy Postgres to reduce their database spend.”
EnterpriseDB will be running two half-day training sessions at the event in addition to its sponsorship. The courses, to be held on Tuesday, October 29, are PostgreSQL Performance Tuning and Data Processing Inside PostgreSQL.
Bruce Momjian, Senior Database Architect at EnterpriseDB and co-founder of the PostgreSQL Global Development Group, will be leading the educational programs. Momjian stated: "This is invaluable training for database professionals at businesses using Postgres or considering deployments. Other people are also providing training so that attendees benefit from diverse, expert insight and real world experiences."
Individual training sessions are offered at a cost of €150, and each full-day session at €300. Event attendees are encouraged to sign up in advance for one of the limited course places available at the time of event registration.
