MUNICH, Germany and DUBLIN, Ireland, January 27, 2014 – Coriant, a global supplier of industry-leading optical transport solutions, announced today that it has successfully installed and commissioned a new national all-optical transmission network on behalf of HEAnet, Ireland’s National Education and Research Network.
This new optical network provides increased network capacity and enhanced network resiliency to satisfy the ever increasing data requirements of HEAnet’s client base which includes some 200,000 third-level students and associated staff as well as approximately 800,000 first and second-level students and associated staff.

In addition to the deployment of HEAnet’s optical network, Coriant will provide maintenance and support services for the infrastructure for the next five years.
