SAN DIEGO – February 8, 2011 – Continuous Computing®, the global provider of integrated platform solutions that address the mobile broadband capacity challenge, today announced that Texas Instruments [NYSE: TXN] has chosen its industry-leading Trillium® protocol software and professional services for integration into its 3G and Long Term Evolution (LTE) base station products. The resulting collaboration enables Texas Instruments to combine the portable Trillium software with its own Layer 1/PHY software, Layer 2 acceleration engine and TMS320TCI6616 base station system-on-chip (SoC), optimizing its access point products and delivering customized solutions to market quickly.

Continuous Computing’s Trillium wireless protocol software is the “gold standard” for 3G and LTE base station software, delivering unparalleled portability that is customizable to silicon solutions and enables partners to deliver differentiated solutions to their network equipment provider customers and quickly gain market share. Texas Instruments is a leading SoC provider in the wireless infrastructure market and is working with a broad software ecosystem to deliver pre-integrated solutions that address the growing base station market from femtocells to macrocells.

“The increasing demand for network capacity has driven innovation and created an ecosystem of vendors collaborating to provide solutions that allow network equipment providers to confront this growing market need,” said Manish Singh, vice president of product line management for Continuous Computing. “With 26 femtocell and 19 LTE customer wins to date, we continue to demonstrate that we are the go-to software provider for this ecosystem, and our strong relationship with Texas Instruments serves as further validation of the strength of our pre-integrated solutions for a full range of 3G and LTE base stations.”

“In the base station market, the ability to quickly deliver tailored solutions capable of handling real-world bandwidth demands has been vital to our success,” said Kathy Brown, manager of the wireless base station infrastructure business at Texas Instruments. “Continuous Computing’s Trillium software and professional services offer us the flexibility and instant assurance that we are addressing our customers’ customization, system integration and product delivery requirements in the swiftest manner possible.”

Trillium LTE and 3G base station software suite supports both 3G High Speed Packet Access (HSPA+) and LTE base station infrastructure requirements. Key features include:

•Standards-based protocols starting with the latest 3GPP Rel-9 standards for the HSPA+ and LTE

•Pre-integrated software to simplify development and enable more focus on application development

•Base station reference implementations feature base station reference applications (e.g., RRM, Control / Data transport, etc.), integrated protocol stacks and integration with leading LTE & WCDMA base station SoC solutions

•Complete suite of 3G and LTE Core Network Emulator (CNE) functionality for testing and demonstration

•Multi-threaded stacks optimized for multi-core processing architectures meeting data and control plane performance requirements for HSPA+ and LTE

•Experienced Trillium Professional Services for rapid integration and full platform design and development support

Underscoring Trillium protocol software product leadership, Continuous Computing was recently selected as a finalist in the prestigious GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2011 in the “Best Technology Breakthrough” category.
