Bamberg, 26 November 2013 – Computop, a leading payment service provider, today announced that it has finalized a strategic cooperation agreement with EOS Payment Solutions, daughter company of Otto Group. Under the agreement, Otto Group intends to leverage the Computop Paygate platform to process online payments for Otto.de and over 100 of its subsidiary retail brands. These subsidiary brands include global names such as BonPrix, Freemans Grattan, Frankonia, Lascana and myToys.
“Computop has earned the excellent reputation of being an innovative, dynamic and trustworthy partner that offers reliable payment solutions worldwide. These characteristics are what we needed for our fast growing domestic and international eCommerce business,” said Marc Berg, CEO at Finnovato GmbH, the holding company from the Otto Group, where all digital financial services are consolidated.
As part of the cooperation, EOS Payment will immediately make Computop Paygate available to its customers. “Instead of any further investment in our current online payment systems, we will now offer all our customers the Computop Paygate solution as our main payment platform,” explained Karsten Cornelissen, CEO of EOS Payment Solutions. “Computop Paygate supports additional payment methods that our customers are demanding, as well as providing other relevant functionality and features that our customers need to improve their businesses."
As part of the agreement between Otto Group and Computop, EOS Payment Solutions customers will immediately get access to over 50 domestic and international payment methods, via Paygate, including RatePay and Yapital as well as a wide selection of international merchant acquiring banks for card payments. In addition, Paygate supports PoS and mPoS payments and has an industry leading fraud prevention solution. The modern interface and statistical tools found in Paygate also enable individual evaluations of all payment transactions to be made available to Otto Group companies using the system. However, EOS Payment Solutions’ current payment platforms will still be available until 2015, giving existing customers enough time to transfer to Computop Paygate if needed.
“We are excited about working with Otto Group and EOS Payment,” said Ralf Gladis, CEO and founder of Computop."
