Hamburg, 20 February 2013 – At the CeBIT booth of gateprotect AG Germany (Hall 12 C82) it will be sporty from 5 to 9 March: The Hamburg IT security specialist will feature its sponsoring commitment at the “Race Across America” (RAAM) and an extensive charity activity in its trade show concept. On a race bike simulator, visitors can demonstrate their fitness and support a charity project at the same time.
For each visitor who keeps up two minutes on the race bike simulator, gateprotect AG Germany will donate five Euros. Furthermore, the participant who has yielded the highest average wattage at the end of each day will win a high-quality gateprotect security audit. The well-known radio DJ Viola Gaspar will select the winner of the day at 5.00 p.m. on each day of the CeBIT.
The proceeds from the charity activity will be given the youth club Mainfeld in Frankfurt, where the money shall be used to establish a bicycle repair shop in the summer of 2013 where children and teenagers will have the opportunity to repair bicycles together with social workers and thus gain access to manual skills and to the world of employment. “In this part of Frankfurt, many parents are unemployed, single or facing problems such as debts or addiction. This has a considerable influence on the living conditions and future opportunities of the children and teenagers”, says Dr. Peter Smeets, CEO of gateprotect AG Germany and initiator of the project. “With the bicycle workshop, we will be able to give the children the possibility to try out manual work and discover or develop new capabilities. This may also help them with their choice of career”, Dr. Susanne Feuerbach, director of the Frankfurt children’s office, who is supporting the activity of gateprotect AG, adds.
The new bicycle repair shop, which is being established in a container, and which is put up with donations in kind, is also the basis for other future offers and projects at the Mainfeld youth club.
gateprotect AG Germany is supporting the establishment of the bicycle repair shop with extensive contributions. The main sponsor of the cycling team “4Athletes powered by gateprotect” will also auction the high-tech time trial bike of Dr. Peter Smeets to the highest bidder after the end of the “Race Across America” (RAAM) and donate the proceeds as well.
