Cellcrypt Awarded UK’s CESG Claims Tested Mark
« Posted: October 27, 2010, 07:51:54 PM »

Adds to existing US FIPS 140-2 Validation for Secure Voice Calling

London, UK – October 27th, 2010: Cellcrypt (www.cellcrypt.com), the leading provider of encrypted cell phone voice calling, today announced that the latest version of Cellcrypt Mobile 5.5, for both BlackBerry® Bold 9000 and Nokia E71 smartphones, has been awarded the CESG Claims Tested Mark (CCTM) certification.

Head of the CCTM Secretariat (ISC) Peter Hayes was delighted to make the award to Cellcrypt. "Our new category of Mobile and Remote Working products at CCTM continues to expand with the addition of Cellcrypt Mobile Version 5.5." said Hayes. "An easy to use, encrypted voice calling product brings welcome assurance for buyers across the wider public sector".

A CCTM certificate for Information Assurance (IA) means that UK public sector organisations, including Central Government, local authorities, NHS, education, criminal justice, police and MoD, can recognise a product that has had independent testing, under CESG authority. In addition "many private sector suppliers" notes Hayes, "are adopting CCTM certificated products in their solutions for their own government customers".

CCTM features as a recognised certification in the CESG Good Practice Guides and the HMG IA (Her Majesty's Government Information Assurance) Standards. "Buying an IA product from commercial vendors becomes a good deal easier when the buyer can see this CESG kite mark", say Hayes.

The CCTM certification is awarded for Cellcrypt Mobile 5.5, as described below:

"Cellcrypt Mobile provides encrypted voice calling on BlackBerry® Bold 9000 and Nokia E71 smartphones, ensuring that important mobile phone conversations remain secure.

Utilising the IP (Internet Protocol) data channel Cellcrypt Mobile supports voice calls with comparable voice quality and performance to normal mobile phone calls in an easy-to-use application that makes secure calling as easy as making a normal phone call.

Cellcrypt Mobile delivers government-grade end-to-end security and is validated to CCTM in the UK, and to FIPS 140-2 standard, approved by the US National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST)."

This is the second government-granted certification that Cellcrypt has been awarded this year after it earlier announced that its cryptographic module (Ccore) had been granted Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 certification (#1310) by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology. Ccore is used in a range of Cellcrypt products including mobile phone and gateway applications.

"In our business, customers  demand absolute trust in the products they choose to acquire and the vendors who provide those products," said Richard Greco, CEO at Cellcrypt, "We can see how CESG's CCTM Certification provides important assurance to our customers that they are making  the right choice in selecting Cellcrypt to secure their conversations."
