London – August 3, 2011 – Attenda Limited, the Always On Managed Services company, today announced that Belron® has signed a three year contract for the operational management of its e-Business websites.
The new contract with Attenda reflects the importance of the e-Business channel for the Belron® Group which will represent an increasingly significant percentage of its revenue by 2014. Attenda will provide a new, stable and highly scalable platform capable of supporting business growth with continued geographical expansion, delivering exceptional performance to Belron’s customers with 24/7 availability.
Belron® is the global leader in vehicle glass repair and replacement. Employing around 25,000 people in 32 countries across 5 continents, Belron® served over 12 million customers in 2010. Globally there are 1,900 branches and 9,400 mobile vans, trading under 15 different brands including Carglass®, Autoglass® and Safelite®.
Commenting on the contract with Attenda, Jill Lucas, Group IT Director, Belron® says, “Our e-commerce business service had outgrown the existing hosting provision on several levels.” She continues, “Through our long term managed services relationship within the Group, we recognised that Attenda had the right expertise and proven capability to address our needs for platform stability, geographical coverage, online payment and data compliance, with supplier stability and market presence.”
The Attenda managed solution is an integral part of Belron’s business strategy to maximise the efficiencies of its operations and provide cross border collaboration, and sharing of resources. The approach has enabled Belron’s new e-commerce platform to benefit from ongoing hosting arrangements with Attenda, refreshing the existing Belron® and Autoglass® legacy platforms into a single consolidated platform, using Attenda’s shared Cloud platform.
The shared platform enables multiple service lines to be delivered across a single service interface, in line with Belron’s aspirations to reduce duplication of effort, implement resource sharing within the business and improve operational efficiency. Additionally, the solution provides an automatic disaster recovery capability, with the opportunity to dynamically migrate virtual machines to a second data centre in the event of a disaster recovery invocation, removing the traditional requirement to have a dedicated DR environment. This feature also provides the ability to perform live DR tests without impacting the production environment.
Jill Lucas adds, “Attenda has demonstrated a willingness to maximise value through innovative technology solutions, improved service levels and increased agility; with a phased deployment of functionality that will allow Belron® to enhance the solution on a ‘pay as we grow’ basis.” She concludes, “With Attenda we have a good cultural fit and a proven and trusted relationship that focuses on the operational delivery and management of our business critical applications.”
