Bath, UK – July 27, 2011 – Backup Direct, a leading provider of the cloud-based services, including online backup and disaster recovery, today announced that it was awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 27001) certification for Information Security Management and (ISO 20000) certification for IT Service Delivery Management.
ISO is recognised as the global standard for ensuring best-practices business processes. The ISO 27001 certification is an endorsement of Backup Direct’s commitment to ensuring the security of our customers’ data.
Similarly, the ISO 20000 certification is a reflection of the investments made and the standards achieved by Backup Direct in consistently delivering quality services.
"Achieving operational excellence is a strategic goal for Backup Direct and these two ISO certifications are key markers," said David Wigley, Operations Direct at Backup Direct. "We are committed to delivering our customer promise of extra-mile service levels combined with complete trust.”
"As more businesses switch their IT over to cloud-based providers, it’s vital that they can work with a company they trust," said Brett Raynes, Managing Director at Backup Direct. "If you rely on a third-party to delivery critical business systems – then you have to be sure your critical data is safe and that the service will always be there. In an increasingly crowded market, it is not always easy for customers to choose between suppliers, our ISO certifications further set us apart from less experienced or low cost providers."
Backup Direct has already achieved ‘Investor in People’ and the ‘Institute of Customer Service’ accreditations. It adheres to ITILv3 service delivery protocols and has used the Net Promoter Scoring (NPS) system for many years to measure its service delivery success.
