Azzurri tops shortlist of 9 providers
CRN brings Azzurri’s tally of top industry awards to seven during 2013 including those from Ovum and Computer Weekly
London, 15th November 2013: Azzurri Communications, the leading provider of managed services, was last night awarded ‘Managed Services Provider of the Year’ at the prestigious CRN Channel Awards 2013.
Azzurri were chosen as the winner out of the nine finalist companies in its category based on a set of refined criteria by category expert judges. The award recognises the company’s exceptional achievements for its customers in the managed services industry over the past year, in particular for its ground-breaking unified communications project for the waste management company Biffa, where Azzurri will deliver savings of £2 million over three years (a 30% reduction in spend). In addition to the cost savings, the Azzurri solution is considered to be one of the most complex unified communications implementations carried out in 2013, as it covers 6,500 employees across 200 locations, including many in remote portacabins and landfill sites, plus 4,500 employees working, not at desks, but in bin lorries.
“We are very proud to have won this award. It is a real testament to the hard work and dedication of our skilled people at designing and then delivering on very ambitious projects for our customers. We never shy away from technically demanding projects and are pleased to see that our tenacity has been recognised,” comments Rufus Grig, CTO, Azzurri Communications.
“We believe it is our job to cut through the hype and help IT Directors choose the right solutions for their needs, even if that means going against the current zeitgeist - as in fact happened with our recent research into BYOD which highlighted that employees and employers alike actually prefer the alternative ‘choose-your-own-device’ or ‘CYOD’ approach. Our approach means we are able to stop our clients from making potentially costly mistakes, while still saving them significant amounts of money, but still delivering the best possible IT service. I believe it is this unique approach that led us to win this award.”
This latest award continues Azzurri’s winning streak in 2013, where the managed services provider has won seven major industry awards to date, including a trio at the Comms National Awards for two customer implementations, Ovum’s BYOX award for its successful Bring Your Own Device solution for University College London Hospitals, and earlier awards from Computer Weekly and HR Distinction.
The annual CRN Awards are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. The award ceremony took place on the evening of the 14th November at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London.
