Azzurri receives Networking Project of the Year award for Biffa project

It’s the 8th award Azzurri have scooped in 2013.
The Networking Project of the Year Award recognises IT teams that solve the critical issue of businesses becoming more mobile and needing remote access to sensitive corporate information, through using hardware solutions and network management tools.
Beating off fierce competition from three other companies shortlisted, Azzurri won the award for its unified communications project for waste management company Biffa. Azzurri implemented a multi stranded communications strategy which incorporated Biffa’s WAN, enterprise mobility, contact centre, ICT and support services, to be delivered over three years.
In just 6 months, the project has already realised improvements to handling customer queries, ensuring that the most appropriate agent is dealing with a query, using a centralised Avaya solution with Azzurri’s Callmedia application. Agents can now communicate with customers effectively over multiple-channel.
Biffa now also benefits from improved connectivity and a high performance network which is resilient and connects all 200 Biffa sites. Azzurri has put the infrastructure in place to support the company’s future development; in-cab mobile devices for their fleet of trucks now possess the latest 4G technology systems, iPads are available to sign up new clients and a new web portal has been launched for its 65,000 customers. On top of this, the three year project is on track to deliver substantial cost savings of £2m, a total reduction of 30%.
