London, April 8th, 2011: Aspect Enterprise Solutions (AES), a leading global provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) trading and risk management solutions, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the niche player quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Energy Trading and Risk Management Platforms” evaluation report published March 2011 by Keith Harrison and David Furlonger. AES receives this distinction and recognition in Gartner’s annual report, which is based on each company’s completeness of vision and ability to execute.
The report details energy trading and risk management platforms which provide energy market participants with a means of optimizing the physical and financial positions of multiple commodities. According to Gartner’s report, this Magic Quadrant analyzes the leading providers of these platforms.
Welcoming the report’s findings AES chief executive officer Steve Hughes believes this year’s recognition solidifies the company’s position among top vendors in the marketplace.
“This year’s position saw us move further to the upper right of the quadrant reflecting the strengthening of our product line and tremendous market success,” said Hughes. “We’ve had another record year in 2010 growing our CTRM business by 28% against a market average of around 8%. The acknowledgement by Gartner is another confirmation that the energy trading world is adopting Web-based applications. We’ve been Web-based since day one and our solutions are being embraced in every region of the world. ”
AES provides multi-commodity trading and risk management solutions for oil and related products, metals and steel, emissions and other commodities. The company’s SaaS delivery model is fully Web-based, which means clients do not need to invest in software, hardware and IT expertise. Each user pays a monthly subscription license, and no major capital investment is required. This model along with the scalability of AES solutions appeals to both the mid-market and larger trading organizations. It’s an affordable, flexible alternative to legacy software systems.
