3rd June 2013 – Ascribe is pleased to announce that their Business Intelligence (“BI”) team will be attending this year’s Commissioning Show in London’s Excel Exhibition Centre (stand L42) on the 12th & 13th June to demonstrate how commissioning stakeholders can utilise multiple sources of clinical data to create a single robust, sustainable and flexible technical environment which facilitates sharing of information with a community of GP’s and stakeholders, to improve patient safety.
Using a case study drawn from a CCG on the south coast of England, Ascribe’s BI team looked at how Emergency Care data was shared across GPs and other urgent care stakeholders. The processes and communication paths originally in place were restructured to absorb additional available data sources to provide a far more comprehensive view on consistent and joined-up healthcare for patients.
“Using unscheduled care dashboards means that I can mobilise clinical staff quickly, based on an immediate view of A&E activity that requires community follow-up – and, as a commissioner, I can try and influence patients’ choices about where they go to get emergency care”. Doctor at south coast CCG.
A key component of this transformation in the provision of clinical services was the adoption by the CCG of ‘Clinical Dashboards’ which provide high level views of key sets of information. Each element of the dashboard still enables users with approved access, to drill quickly into the data and understand what factors are contributing to their performance.
The main objective of the south coast CCG case study was the provision to all GPs and Community Matrons in the CCG’s area of authority with access to a web portal displaying intuitive and interactive dashboards that contain:
Key metrics on the previous day’s unplanned care activity
Aggregated trend views of key metrics
This work was undertaken and delivered on time and within budget. Ascribe’s Business Intelligence solution now provides the GPs and Community Matrons in the CCG with access to dashboards and reports related to Unscheduled Care activity, with daily feeds from Adastra, Ascribe’s EPR solution (CaMIS) and Ascribe’s Unscheduled Care solution (Symphony), TPP SystmOne and the Solent risk assessment tool for high risk patients.
Stephen Critchlow, CEO of Ascribe, commented: “Ascribe is committed to giving clinicians the information they need in order to improve the care they deliver to patients. Our BI personnel have the clinical and strategic experience necessary to understand how to transform the use and application of clinical data. The results are better informed clinical decisions that directly improve care outcomes for patients.”
